Douglas A-4D1 'Skyhawk'
This small and speedy attack aircraft was designed in 1954 by chief engineer Ed Heinemann of Douglas. It earned the nickname "Heinemann's Hotrod." It was a jet sucessor to the prop-driven Douglas A-1 Skyraider. The A4D's were produced for more than 26 years in many variants.
